The Eight Limbs of Yoga as a Spiritual Path

How do all of these threads form a coherent path?

Course OverviewLiving the 8 Limbs of Yoga: A Journey from Outer Discipline to Inner Freedom is a year-long, session-by-session course that pairs each of Patanjali's eight limbs of yoga with a corresponding chakra, taking participants on a progressive journey from outer ethical discipline toward inner stillness and self-realisation.

Each session follows a consistent structure — philosophical grounding in that week's limb, a chakra theme explored through the body and emotions, a supporting asana sequence, pranayama (breathwork), a guided meditation incorporating mudras and mantras, and a closing reflection prompt — so participants build a complete, integrated personal practice rather than isolated techniques.

The course requires no prior knowledge of yoga philosophy or the chakra system, is framed as reflective and experiential rather than academic ("nothing to force, nothing to chase"), and draws on traditional yogic concepts (prana, nadis, kundalini) alongside classical and modern sources (Patanjali, Iyengar, Desikachar, Anodea Judith).
