The Practice of Flourishing
Ian Rigg is a mindfulness teacher, contemplative practitioner, and NHS programme developer with over two decades of experience in mindfulness-based interventions, movement practice, and contemplative education.
He completed the MSc in Studies in Mindfulness at the University of Aberdeen and was later invited to teach on the programme. He is a lead tutor for the Mindfulness Association and has taught on all of their long-course offerings: mindfulness, compassion, insight and Mindfulness for Life. He is also qualified to teach a range of 8-week courses: MBLC, CBLC, CMT, .b course and other related curricula.

Since 2015 he has led mindfulness and compassion provision within an NHS Trust in Cumbria, and developed The Art of Living Well — a six-course curriculum arc built from that NHS work and from over a decade of teaching beyond it. From 2003 to 2015 he worked as a young persons’ drug and alcohol counsellor, alongside four years of training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. He lives in Cumbria, in the English Lake District.
